Gainesville is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Gainesville is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Florida's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Joining Gainesville Wellness and Performance has been truly life-changing. I came in with years of chronic pain and limited mobility, and through their guidance, I now move more freely and without pain—something I wasn’t sure would ever be possible. The trainers here are next-level: highly skilled, incredibly attentive, and genuinely compassionate. They’ve helped me unlearn years of misinformation about form and movement which has allowed me to surpass previous plateaus and stop constantly injuring myself. Their approach is thoughtful and personalized, never judgmental, and always focused on long-term well-being. But what makes this place stand out even more is the sense of community. It’s become so much more than just a gym—it’s a space where I feel supported, encouraged, and seen. I can show up, be myself and share a few laughs along the way. If you’re looking for a place that prioritizes acceptance, real health, and sustainable progress, without all the fads, competition, and performance, this is your place. You’re going to love it!

I have worked out under the guidance of GWP since its conception (over 10 years). I have an active lifestyle and enjoy lots of traveling. Having a regular, daily workout routine has helped to keep me strong and injury free. At 69, I feel fantastic! And to top it off , the coaches and my fellow workout buddies make it enjoyable.

I’ve been to many gyms, but Gainesville Wellness and Performance stands in a league of its own. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the difference—this is not just a place to work out, it’s a place to see real results. The environment is clean, modern, and incredibly well-equipped, with an emphasis on both performance and wellness. What truly sets this gym apart is the personalized approach to exercise. The trainers are knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely invested in your progress. Every session feels purposeful and efficient, tailored to help you reach your goals without wasting time or energy. If you’re looking for a facility that combines elite-level training with a strong focus on health and longevity, this is it. Gainesville Wellness and Performance delivers excellence at every level. Highly recommended.

Just a quick shout out to Gainesville Wellness and Performance (my gym). I’ve been using them consistently since their inception many years ago. Not just another gym, but a caring and organized health maintenance group with a great balance and focus on many aspects of personal health. They offer excellent personal training and group workout programs and are a big reason that, at 70, I’m still very active in life (with tennis, pickleball, golf, bike riding, surfing, snow skiing, hiking and most anything else outdoors). Thanks GWP for all you do.

Jason, Lauren and their team are simply the best! I have had a variety of injuries related to running, weight lighting and tennis over the years and they have miraculously fixed me every time! Their approach is to create a treatment plan that enables the athlete to continue doing what they love while also healing their body. I always walk out of GWP feeling rejuvenated and relieved to have such caring professionals dedicated to helping me feel great and improving my performance.
